summary

remove CSS problems on your xaraya site caused by browser defects

details

CSSx is a module that provides an emulation for better CSS support (in Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 for example), and also caters to site visitors using older versions of Internet Explorer.

When installed on your Xaraya or Xarigami site and activated, the module provides emulation for better CSS support in browsers of your site visitors. Roger Keays implemented this idea with the older module called IE7. It integrated the scripts of Dean Edwards that set out to fix IE7 bugs, and I've been maintaining this module now for a few years in the Xaraya monotone repository.

With this module the name is changed to CSSx for a few reasons. Firstly to remove dependency of the module name from a specific browser version. The module now could be updated with new CSS emulation scripts no matter what the version of Intenet Explorer, and provide a suitable name. Secondly, I wanted the module to be open for addition of fixes for browsers other than Internet Explorer that had CSS rendering issues.

At the moment CSSx module provides emulation for better CSS support for all versions of Internet Explorer from IE 5.5 through to IE 8, some support for special bugs (eg peekaboo) that were not supported previously and also transparent PNGs.
